I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
